IEEE Student Branch Executive Committee Elections

The term for the current board of the IEEE Student Branch at Aalborg University has finished. The Election day for the 2011 executive committee is coming soon.

Make a difference by proposing yourself as a candidate for one of the available positions. According to our constitution, we will hold elections for 4 positions:

  1. Chairman
  2. Vice-chairman
  3. Secretary
  4. Treasurer

Candidacies can be announced by sending a mail to the student branch e-mail (sb(at)ieee.aau.dk) by Wednesday March 16, 2011. All nominations should be individual nominations, and should contain the following:

  1. Name of the candidate
  2. IEEE Student member number (if you have one)
  3. Position that you would like to contest
  4. Currently studying (bachelor, master, PhD)
  5. Goals and visions for IEEE SB by the candidate including candidates IEEE history in 100 words.

The elections will be held on:

Come and join the election, contest for a position, and vote for your favorite candidate and most importantly, share free pizza and soft drinks with fellow IEEE members at AAU.

In order to calculate the amount of food to purchase, we need to estimate the number of people that will attend. Therefore, please send an e-mail to sb(at)ieee.aau.dk if you plan to come to the election.

Who can vote:

  • All student members from AAU can vote. If you are not a member, but plan to get involved in the student branch, you can come and participate in the election and the lunch

Krisztina Leban
PhD student at Energy Technology

Contesting for: Chairman

"I believe that I can bring a good and useful contribution to the student branch as I am willing to put time and effort into doing so"

Krisztina is new to the student branch, but she is an energetic and motivated person, who would like to get involved and take leadership in the activities of the IEEE Student Branch at Aalborg University.

Bayu Anggorojati
PhD student at Electronic Systems

Contesting for: Chairman

Bayu has volunteer in the student branch for the past few years. His goals are to give mutual benefits to the student branch, its members, and society by creating an environment that enables the members to have good social interaction and increase their knowledge, experience, and networking. Also by creating initiatives or events that involve external parties, e.g. AAU in general, IEEE community, regional community (academia, industry, or any institution in Aalborg and Denmark).

Farhood Hakhamaneshi
Master student at Electronic Systems

Contesting for: Treasurer

Farhood was the treasurer of the student branch during 2010. He has experience on this position and already access to the bank account :)
He has been an active member and organized activities of the student branch.

 

Schedule for the election day:

  • 12.00-12.10: Taking Pizza orders
  • 12.10-12.15: Speech from SB Chairman for 2010
  • 12.15-12.30: Election, conducted by Election Commissioner and his assistant
  • 12.30-12.40: Vote counting by Election commissioner and his assistant
  • 12.40-12.45: Election results
  • 12.45-12.50: Speech from newly elected Chairman for 2011
  • 12.50- onwards: Pizza and drinks!
